peré lachaise was the first garden cemetery in paris. established as a cemetery in 1804 by napoleon, many notable figures in the arts have been buried here. it has now become a miniature biodiversity preserve.

dürnstein, a small town on the danube river, was established in 1019. the town is home to dürnstein abbey, originally founded as a monastery in 1410, now serving as a local church with its iconic blue bell tower dating back to 1733. overlooking the town are the ruins of dürnstein castle, a fortress constructed in the early 12th century. notably, richard the lionheart was imprisoned here in 1192.
